I feel like I can one up that. I got this tattoo while on holiday in Berlin

Well put. I'm starring your post because I completely agree with everything you've just said. Frankly, I hadn't looked too deeply into the subject and found myself half-defending a point that I didn't care much about. Anyway, thanks for a very well put together comment.

You're missing the point (intentionally or not).

Evolution happens pretty quickly when there are strong forces at work on a limited, closed population. And we're talking about a period of ~800 years. How long does it take wild foxes to develop rounded ears when certain traits are aggressively selected for?

Okay. a) what's the difference between artificial and natural selection? b) how does this related to evopsych? c) what debate?

Semantics. Frankly, it's selection, which _is_ evolution. Whatever environmental pressure exists—genocide, oppression, literacy and talmudic scholarship responsible for higher status and more breeding potential, etc. . . —that's still natural selection. Calling it artificial doesn't really make any difference. I

Actually, I take that back! I just did a bit of looking around at the 1941 twin studies done and it turns out that twins raised in _radically_ different environments showed a large (24 point) difference in IQ. Though those raised in similar environments were nearly identical. The studies still seem to point at a

Hey, I don't have a horse in this. I'm just going off of what I've seen and read on the subject. IQ heritability _is_ pretty high and for the most part you have what you're born with. Regarding Ashkenazim and intelligence, I'm talking about are actual journal studies e.g. http://journals.cambridge.org/action/display…

Like I said in my reply to NewBurnie, it can't be ruled out, but I do think it's unlikely that environment has much to do with it. Now what caused the genetic change is certainly up for debate, I just mentioned one of the more popular explanations.

It certainly can't be ruled out since there haven't been adoptive studies done, at least that I know of. Science!

Evopsych is mostly just-so stories.

Judging from how often I hear women talk about men buying Magnums that they don't need, I'm not sure the methodology is as sound as the researchers think it is.

It's the only way to guarantee that people won't shoot video with their phones in a vertical orientation.

Hahaha! Yeah, I think he was annoyed at the seating chart or something. Henry is a very important hound. At least according to him.

Whatever. Every day should be "don't be an inconsiderate prick day." So yeah, don't bring your dog to work if it's an asshole. Bring your dog to work if it's well socialised and everybody fucking loves it to little tiny fluffy-arsed doggie pieces.
