Right. The Church has a right to declare sins wherever they like, and we have the right to go right on ignoring them.

The church has an absolute right to call abortion a sin - that doesn’t mean that it’s right, it means that the church is a bigoted, racist, homophobic institution that has no place in modern, civilised society.

I’m not sure they’ll let him pick the food at the craft table, too, but... oh.

Last thing I ever need to see is Michael Palin, arguably the most cheerful man in history, cry.

Palin’s remembrance is as lovely as you would expect but Gilliam’s is the one that made me cry. It’s no secret that there were sometimes tensions between the two Terrys but I think the genuine affection and respect there is obvious.

Maybe I won’t watch this at work. You know, weeping at your desk being considered unprofessional and all.

Imagine the shame of being the kid who had to go school and admit he got his ass kicked by a furry.

I know Sky Captain bombed, but damn it, I liked it. I saw it in the theater, twice!  Cast anybody other than Gwyneth Paltrow as the female lead and you’ve got a great retro-future cult classic on your hands.

The other thing that makes The Good Place Committee like your typical NY Times and NPR subscriber is they’re all safely insulated from the demons around us.

Paul Scheer nails that tone of positive, cheery uselessness. Everything he says undermines his authority but he never seems to notice. 

I haven’t loved the Daniel Craig themes (although I think Another Way To Die is very underrated) so I’m hoping they go out strong. This is at least a more interesting choice than bringing back Adele (which was rumoured for a while).

However, we can’t imagine that the production company would skip out on another chance to potentially rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars on a modestly-budgeted film.
