I went straight to the comments so I could post my Sam the Slayer shout-out, and now I'm not going to bother reading the review if it's just going to be VanDerWerff on his high horse.

As soon as she stepped out on the street, I was thinking, "no not the hit-by-a-car-out-of-nowhere trope," and then she got hit by a car.  Not sure I really liked that development, but it was still a good episode.

Yes, you're missing the fact that Todd is barely literate from all the TV he watches.

The Ted Kord reference was great, but my favorite sneaky reference in this episode happened in one of the flashbacks, when Laurel mentioned her friends Ray and Jean moving in together.  Of course, that could only be a reference to Ray Palmer (aka The Atom) and Jean Loring.  I love that this show takes the time to slip

You mean that kid's gonna be Batman?

She's a bit too smart to be Space Cersei though.  I'm thinking more Space Margaery.

I was fine with this episode, but slapping water isn't going to work the muscle groups that are required to draw a bow.  It's the little things that get to me sometimes.

It's not about the names themselves, but what the names say about the direwolf's owner, and by that measure every name is perfect.

Eh, I couldn't get into it, because I knew there was no way that either one of them was going to die.  If there aren't any real stakes in an episode like this, then it's just killing time before the final showdown.

Let me tell you something about the 80s, Genevieve.  Seatbelts were optional, wearing a bike helmet was an invitation to a wedgie, and real men sure as shit didn't wear goggles when they played racquetball! We were risking our lives just crossing the street every day, and we liked it that way!

My favorite word is defenestrated, just because I think it's awesome that there's a word for throwing someone out of a window.

I doubt that I ever would have watched this show if not for Lucy Liu.  The producers were smart and lucky to get her and it will probably keep this show going a lot longer than it would without her.

Damn, I wanted to be the one to compare this to REVENGE.  I did the same thing, watched REVENGE all at once a week before this season's premiere, and I'm definitely feeling the same vibe.  Although, like Keith Phipps mentioned on Twitter a while ago, I also noticed a dash of Hamlet, what with his dad's "best friend"

CHEKHOV'S SUNSCR—-Oh fuck, now I'm doing it!

Magnets, bitch!

Magnets, bitch!

I'm picturing him as his FBI director character on American Dad dialed up to eleven.  And yeah, it would have ruled, I bet.
