scottbott: Or How I Learned To Quit Worrying And Love Kinja

I saw one comment that really hit the nail on the head. Those who don’t get it are the ones the ad is referring to.”

From what I’ve read, many are opposed to the “feminization” of society. Anything other than brusque (and toxic) masculinity frightens them. IMHO it’s the classic dichotomy of man vs woman, good vs evil. They might not specifically say it but I think they view women negatively, most of the time, unless women are doing

They think they’re getting called out.

Let me guess, they also feel the need to say they don’t abuse women and are Nice Guys(TM).

My friend posted it to her feminist meme page and there’s been a huge influx of angry dudes screaming they’re boycotting Gillette now.

You’ve been deep diving into this? May I also recommend PGEs shampoo, head & shoulders (despite cringey advertising) and ivory soap to assist with removing the stench?

That might be why Pete Davidson is so annoying

Body bag, baby.

Look, if you want to say something in these comments all I ask is that you be respectful to one another. Disagree on whatever points you want but please treat each other decently.  (Assholes and transphobes get banned.)

Wow, Tivo didn’t exist in the 1940's? Got any more hot takes. Film Reels of Hitler still exist today. I remember hearing that Hitler would have his rallies filmed on film and play them back so he could practice what got the crowd so worked up. Obviously, it wasn’t as instant as Tivo or youtube.

Yeah, no, this was a shitty take; you’re right.  We should be welcoming any discussion that breaks down taboo subjects, especially something like this, that shows that men too are feeling some kind of way about sex.  The patriarchy, as we say, hurts everyone.

Now that I really think about it, this article doesn’t affect women at all

Kinja is with you on this one. <3

You are miles from mansplaining. I think the author’s going to be embarrassed by her Bad Take as soon as she takes a minute to think about it. I hope you’re doing better with the anxiety!

It does, you’re right. And it doesn’t at all seem like mansplaining, since you’re speaking to your own experience.

about which I am really trying to muster some freaking empathy.

But muh free speech! On a private server hosted by a private corporation...

First rule of comedy: You can insult anyone as long as it’s funny.

That would be the equivalent of a Japanese person coming to Times Square and holding up a slice of pizza and a drum stick. Also, anyone else cringe when he walked into a clothing store with that food in his hand? Don’t ruin the fucking merchandise! Hope they made him pay for anything he might have touched.

BioDome or go home, says I.
