You’re all looking at this the wrong way.
It’s not that auto glass could be welded directly to the body structure, though it could be for supercars and the like.

It’s that the panes can be welded to frames that can then be attached to the body structure. If it’s even advantageous... the glue they use now works well…

It all depends on your frame of reference. Every car on Earth is racking up 1.6 million miles every day as if you use the sun as reference. If you measure based on the galactic central point, it’s more like 12 million miles a day.

Porsche smugness is at least quieter and just an air of superiority rather than Tesla smugness where they’re trying to shove it down your throat. And I think most people recognize that Porsche makes good cars, giving the smugness a bit of credibility.
