Fair point, and I always forget about that one.

Liberty University: When Baylor is too PC and liberal for your brand of success

Arafat shot it down in 2000. The other deals haven’t been particularly close (but same framework). Abbas probably can’t say yes to that deal. Doesn't deal with the huge multigenerational refugee populations in Lebanon, West Bank, and Jordan. I'm not saying that Israel hasn't been poisoning the peace process, but

I’m 28 and single, yet this has been my primary car for the past 4 years:

I have flannel-lined LL Bean jeans an no one to impress because she already married me.

I was laughing at the implication. You are arguing semantics. Are you going to claim that you don’t think Palestine should exist?

Here’s another analogy: Poverty is a very real issue within the Orthodox Jewish community. If a rabbi did a ton of work with that community, very good work, but also called for black people to be re-enslaved, I would see myself as having a moral obligation to leave that temple. I would not be capable of calling him an

She literally called him the ‘GOAT’. She has not renounced him. She said she is against anti-semitism and his comments on Jews are inconsistent. That’s like saying I support David Duke but not his views on Jews - not a thing you can do.

Literally the same thing. The Nazis did a ton of social work before (and after, frankly) they gained power. They weren’t loved by the people because of their war mongering - most Germans were hopeful no war would come, and they genuinely believed Hitler was “a man of peace”. They loved the Nazis because of social

Nevermind. You’re not worth it.

She’s not merely a critic of Israel. I am a Zionist and I am constantly criticizing Israel because I don’t think it is sustainable in its current incarnation (I have been working on peace for over 20 years). She thinks Israel should not exist. She thinks one can’t be a feminist and believe that Israel has a right to

‘That Nazi party sure does seem anti-semitic, but you know, they’ve done a lot for veterans and run regular social security drives for us, so it goes both ways.’

So she wants it both ways. So if someone likes Trump’s economic policies but not his bigotry, we should respect that. GTFO with your shit.

If this was any other minority group, Jezebel would not be leaving it to non-members of that group to decide what is and isn’t bigoted or harmful. Why are Jews the only group that everyone else is allowed to decide whether or not to take us seriously?

Hello my mishpicha! I have been reading your comments and feel the same frustrations. Many progressives (people within the Women’s March included) have taken a stance that you cannot be progressive/liberal if you are also a Zionist. Some of this I think comes from the Jewish Voices for Peace influence and some from

It is hardly unprecedented for a group that espouses hateful ideologies to offer needed social services to marginal or underserved groups. It’s no conflict to acknowledge the social-service aspect while deploring the ideology. See not just the Nation of Islam, but also Hamas, the IRA, and even ISIS.

The fun thing about anti-semitism is that you can try to justify it from the right or the left.

It’s tricky to defend their support of Farrakhan because it’s indefensible. He’s an outspoken jew-hater, and if you support him, you’re OK with that. It’s no different than Trump supporters saying they’re not racist.

Also, Sarsour criticizing Israel doesn’t suddenly make it okay to say Jews “always choose their allegiance to Israel over their commitment to democracy and free speech.”
