Ok, I did use the word demand but I failed to be clear. There is a demand for Tesla vehicles. But when someone like BMW, Ford, or Toyota polls an audience “How willing would you be to pay $100,000 for an electric vehicle” and 9% respond with a *Very Likely* and 80% respond with *Very Unlikely* there isnt a strong case…
You could have a lot of demand for your products and still be unprofitable. To meet the recent demand he’ll have to spend more and more money. Especially when he’s doing backflips to achieve production. It’s the old saw, “we’re losing money on each unit, but we should make it up in volume.”
Obama made the field move from NA V8s to more compact forced induction units. Electric cars were invented over 100 years ago.
False. If you exclude reinvestment allocations from their balance sheet, they are still FAR from profitable. They cant keep up with demand because they dont know how to supply.
Other manufacurers did not make an EV because the market for ICE is and was strong. Large, Successful, and Established companies dont build products they desire, they build products the public desires.
Musk should pour himself a frothy mug of genius juice
It never ceases to amaze me that a US president is actually proposing a trade war against our allies. Democrat, Republican, this is just bad for the free market and the auto industry in general--doesn’t bother me that a car website is concerned about it.
Equally childish? Right, there’s a professional giving an opinion and then a billionaire with no experience of cave diving calling someone names/making accusations which are very serious. Musk is the dick here.
I think that one problem with modern society is
that there used to be a lot of layers between the public and the insane behaviof ofrich people
Sounds like Elon is trapped in a cave of his own narcissism.
Not that Elon’s response is any better and is arguably worse.
It’s delicious how low the number of Musk stans in the comments is. Normally we’d be drowning in “AT LEAST HE DOES SOMETHING WHAT HAVE YOU DONE YOU’RE JUST JEALOUS REAL-LIFE IRONMAN.”
If you think an expert giving a bluntly honest answer to a reporter’s question is “equally childish” as a publicity seeking billionaire accusing him of being a pedophile, it’s not the world that’s screwing up your kids.
MF please...
Even if legal, it should be fairly widely recognized as a terrible practice. People that have been limited to 6 hours of sleep a night for two weeks are just as fatigued as those who have been awake for 48 hours straight. You just stop getting productivity at some point.
Also, average startups usually outgrow this stuff sometime before year 10.
Sorry, “blown out of proportion” is what Tesla does.
No one forced Tesla to make cars. If they don’t like the bad press from their dangerous and inhumane working conditions, they could build another product or improve conditions. Stop whining, no one forced you to have such lax safety standards.
I’m gonna go ahead and call that a false equivalence. Tesla is not on the level of your wife and criticizing them is not on the level of sleeping with her sister.
