There are very few tariffs on American manufactured goods, mostly on foods and raw materials. The real reason why we have such a huge finished goods deficit (especially consumer items) is we don’t make what they want. Software, aircraft, machine tools, yeah they buy those in droves. But cars; we don’t build what their

On long highway trips, my V90 T6 gets about 35MPG, if I keep it below 70MPH. On flats going 55, the fuel efficiency indicator reports nearly 47 MPG.

You can get dealer installed Polestar Optimization for just about every single Volvo model made since 2008 for ~$1200 - $2000. For most models, this adds roughly 10% HP and torque, and sharpens transmission and suspension.

With those seats, 0-60 in 4 seconds would feel “slow”.

Why doesn’t Volvo push Polestar??? It really remakes the car.

Okay, I completely understand: The Volvo’s seats are so astonishingly comfortable and supportive that 60MPH moves by way faster than it feels and with the higher ride height, it doesn’t look like 60. (We judge speed by angular motion differentials and the higher you are, the smaller the angular difference.)

The T6 is a wonderful engine, but I can’t understand why Volvo doesn’t aggressively push Polestar Optimization.

Four months late... Today I celebrated my three month anniversary with the V90CC and that amazing belt line, the way it synthesizes the horizontal surface with the vertical tail surface is one of the most beautiful lines in any modern car. It is the only current Volvo belt line that has a hard crease, instead of a

Elon Musk is the Donald Trump of car execs.

Kim is saying, “I’ve got the worst hairstyle in the known universe, and I’m still cooler than that idiot.”

Some engineer would tell you that having an 80lb battery in the center of the car gives you more stability than having it offset to the left or right. That’s where a good handling car has the battery.

Until the warranty period end. Never saw a car self destruct as rapidly or as thoroughly as my E class, it was as if it was intentional. When the cup holders gave out, it was the last straw. How do the side view mirror gaskets fail? I’ve seen twenty-five year old cars with functioning exterior gaskets, let alone 9

I have a twin-charged Polestar Optimized (not a “Polestar” , but a Volvo option) V90CC that gets 330HP, 325 lb-ft out of 2.0 liters. 0-60 moves by in 5.6 seconds, but the seats are so comfortable you don’t notice how fast it is. Now add an electric motor delivering 80HP and 175 pound feet (doesn’t quite add up) and

Swedish lesson:

This isn’t a run of the mill restaurant in an area without tourists, they deal with customers from around the world, their management most likely speaks English better than most Americans.

IIRC in Woody Allen’s “Take the Money and Run”, the prisoners had one hot meal a day, a bowl of steam.

Guy complains about workplace accidents, gets fired, faked reports start filing in from employees. What did his prior workplace reviews show, were there any previous complaints or were they fabricated?

Electronic engineer, me too...

Does this mean the US will finally drop the “Chicken tax” tariff on imported light trucks?

It’s for his mother in law.
