My favorite bit of his writing comes from Love in the Time of Cholera.. loved the book, one of my favorites. so romantic.. He is one of the all time greats..
Anyhow, here it is..
Florentino Ariza wrote every night. Letter by letter, he had no mercy as he poisoned himself with the smoke from the palm oil lamps in the

Yes, it is indeed fantastic. And the soundtrack is the best version.. We watch this movie every Good Friday.. it is part reverential, part camp, thoughtful and moving, and also fun. The music is all great, and the musicians are outstanding.. the bass playing in Damned for all time and Heaven on their minds, awesome.

OK, I can accept that, I suppose… because really, there are lots of great tracks on the other albums.. although I think I may never have heard all of duty now for the future..(sorry!) I think I have all the main ones though, and new traditionalists had lots of great stuff…but this all makes we want to revisit their

What I don't get is, where is all the Q. Are We not Men? A. We are DEVO! love? That album was revolutionary at the time to those of us that heard it early on or by accident.. years before Whip it hit the commercial airwaves.. man.. there was nothing like it.. Uncontrollable Urge is a stone cold classic, and every

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed it - it was well done, and gave a little insight into the court process that went on, and some of the background as to why it was such an issue in Russia. Definitely worth seeing if you can. I also saw Blackfish, which was great. Disturbing and thought provoking. I heard

Whoops! I just read the "under $45-50" requirement…

First off, Scortiousthecharioteer's selections are somewhat pedestrian, and so for him to discount an entire style of whisky as Canadian is not completely unexpected.. I mean, really.. Balvenie? Out of all the scotch choices you could make? Its good, but..

And nobody has commented on the absolutely fabulous "Ol' Macdonald" rendition he does, on a dare, that becomes a monster hit, and that swings like nobody's business?… There's your gateway, AV Club. Right. There.

True, but I heard somewhere that some powers that be declared that hockey was also our national sport now.. maybe they were stating "unofficially"? But I thought it became more official somehow, so that along with Lacrosse, we now have hockey..

Thats what I heard as well. When you first hear about this sport, its like WTF? shooting and skiing? Unless you're in a Bond film, it makes no sense. But when you find out about it, it starts to become pretty badass. Not only do they control the speed of their heart when they're shooting, but after having skied

This. As soon as you mentioned Prince, my memory went back to this moment of bliss. Just fantastic..

Hey, these who guys are great! Almost as good as One Direction!

When I was first trying to get our basement band out of the basement, way back when, we were trying to play "My Generation". No shit. The bass solo riffs in the middle section were stunning then, and are still a thing of beauty. Back in the 60's you would rarely if ever find that kind of talent in a pop or rock

I didn't know Blackmore was considered a douchebag.. thats too bad. He does (did?) play a mean guitar, and I do remember hearing as a kid his Rainbow Rising album and being impressed by his talent…not sure how that album stands up now…

Wait a minute… are they not in the hall of fame?

Well, they did stand out, as it were…

I loved this film when it came out..the story was great, the music was great, a topless Sandahl Bergman (also great, especially as I was a teenager at the time) and a moving, well acted story of a self destructive artist dealing with his personal demons and lifestyle choices.  Definitely worth seeing.

Ok.. That was just fantastic. That is all I have to say about that..Just fantastic.  Thank you so much.

I am okay with you being okay with this.

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments, and for keeping it sincere, as I was seriously looking for some insight into this.
