I’m just picturing a NASCAR race in New Jersey. Yellow comes out, and all the cars pile into the pits. Then out come the attendants taking their sweet time fueling each of the car - making sure to leave the fuel can in a good 5 minutes once they’re done.
What happens when a Lemon Law claim is made? I have a minor issue with my car that has been reported in about 8 different service visits thus far. The dealer has thus far failed to fix it, which I largely just account to incompetence.
Subaru STI - every time I hit 80mph, the ABS computer would turn off (ABS light came on). Only way to restore ABS was to restart the car. Happened every time.
Pontiac Lemans - no, not the cool one. It would turn the radio off whenever you turned the headlights on. However, the dashboard lights only ever worked when the radio was on. As such to check your speed at night you had to turn the radio on, which turned your headlights off, but the dash lights came on. Turn the…
Monstrous body? Yep.
I suspect that the average P1 buyer wouldn’t so much cross shop this as much as choose the “both” option.

A club racing car:
1) It will likely have a racing clutch, both giving your leg a workout, and rough engagement
2) No A/C, windows that may or may not open (or close)
3) Floorboards that can get hot enough to burn your foot
4) No radio, not that you could hear it anyways over all the noise inside (open exhaust, no sound…
One could argue that if they last if they lasted any longer than the hardest race + a margin of safety, they were just too heavy. I’m not sure if they do replace the calipers every race, but given the obvious load and heat cycling they see, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are.
If you read Steve Matchett’s book, he…
As “The Perp” said, it’s a “Type K” thermocouple connector, which is the standard for temperature sensors
This was covered in the episode - something about how a previous group tried to use the quarry as a safe haven, and was using the trucks to keep the walkers out... but it kinda backfired.
No tires - more like solid machined aluminum disks

I was going to type out the whole process here, but it quickly became unwieldy to even type out. I’ll just say it involves protractors, spreadsheets, fire, and likely repeating the process 2-3 times until it’s right.
$1500? The one that runs...
I used the RAM mount in my race car (data logger), and had zero problems. This in a car with solid metal motor mounts and very, very stiff springs. I couldn’t get any other bolts in the car to stay tight without thread locker due to vibrations, but the RAM mount worked perfect.
Some of the parts on there seem a little excessive for a clutch job.
-Is the ring gear that weak that it needs to be replaced every clutch change? Aren’t those a part that typically lasts the life of a vehicle?
-Are the mounting bolts that special to justify paying the Ferrari-parts markup? Seems like that would be a…
I imagine that $6k is including labor at a (high priced) quality shop? How much would parts be if you had the time and talent to install it yourself? Does the job require special tools that cost more than paying a shop’s labor?
It’s actually quite the opposite - it’s “No Cash”. You have to pre-create an account with your license plate online, tied to a credit card. Then they just take pictures of everyone’s plate when they drive across, and bill the appropriate card. If you drive across and don’t have an account, then they still take a…
They basically replace the center diff with a spool. They also remove the transfer case portion of the trans, making it shorter and lighter.
