We live in the most extra of timelines.

I grew up in a two family house. A young couple lived on the first floor and mine lived on the second. One day the wife came up to have coffee with my mother. I told the wife that my mom laid on the floor to hear the couple’s fights better.

Yeah, it’s great he likes it, but...why does he like it? What works well about the composition? What doesn’t? I’m not surprised the girl cried—This isn’t useful critique.

It’s this sort of thing that makes me reconsider the notion that the world needs to be purged by fire. I still think it should, but stuff like this gives me momentary pause.

I’m just not sure that there are enough armed cops at that obviously volatile event.

I’m not a courtroom lawyer but I’m 99% sure cops don’t have the jurisdiction to make sure someone is a really a lawyer in court. That’s the court’s job and only the court’s job. The cop is there for security and to bring criminal defendants in and out of custody. This cop should 100% be fired but I’m sure he won’t be.

Elizabeth Gilbert “finds love” a lot.  A lot a lot.

Most book advances would be barely enough to cover a month away, so I’m not seeing this as particularly damning.

Gotta disagree hard on this one. IMO Jagged Little Pill holds up as a top 10 90s album. It’s a viscerally angry album and Alanis is SO GOOD at getting her emotions across.
