That’s called being a teen. We pile on a truckload of all the worst occupational factors for psychosocial health and then make fun of them for having poor psychosocial health.

Honestly, every time time someone brings up the “brains not fully developed” cliche I think of that study a while back indicating that brains start declining at age 24.
Quick tip: read up on the psychosocial predictors of occupational health (or is it occupational predictors of psychosocial health?) so you can understand what they’re dealing with. High school is kind of like the worst retail job on the planet, and we adults would riot if work conditions were anywhere close to what…
“In Boston, for example, there is just one Hispanic teacher for every 52 Latino students”
Kind of reminds me of how my GF’s sunday school can’t have a day dedicated to getting students to respect their elders because the parents and grandparents lose their shit when called “elders.”
Also, most people driving for Hollywood to make anime movies are white actors who would obviously self-cast. Seriously, every one of these has an otaku actor driving it, especially Keanu Reeves.
Armenia is in Asia, so it counts!
The thing that got me most about that excuse was that it came from how the speaker was casting a Jewish character. There are big name Jews. Hell, even Sandler puts in good performances on other people’s movies.
Out of curiosity, do we know if that was a Han actress or a minority?
I’m hoping for Taiwanese, because some people just want to watch the world burn.
He’s Jewish, which is kind of Asian, right?
Yeah, it was being invaded by the Nazis. If you actually understand the joke I’m making, I’ll actually be amazed.
Lets piss everyone off with a Tibetan or Taiwanese. White racists will hate that she’s Asian, ill-informed internet activists will hate that she’s not what comes to mind when the think “Chinese” (for the non-Han Tibetan) or not called “Chinese” (for the Han from the Republic of China), and the Chinese will hate the…
The Krauts invaded China?!?!
I’d say the worst would be a revival of “Asian enough” casting with a Jew, Eastern European, or Middle Easterner (Kardassian).
How do you think casting a Chinese minority (Mongolic would be the most accurate, Tibetan the most passive aggressive) or Taiwanese person would go over?
I’m hoping Disney tries to sell to China by casting a Chinese celeb, but then pisses it off by casting a minority (Mulan has particularly been identified with Mongolic minorities in stories, and usually comes from a western kingdom of the empire).
Armenians are Asian, right? How about Asian enough?
The only princess whose story is caring for the welfare of others.
