According to some sources, she’s obsessed with a guy on campus who rejected her. That’s less a distinct trauma than a long-term psychosis, but that seems close enough.

At the same time, I don’t think anybody would have trusted this article had it not been about rape. It was a report and reporter clearly hunting for a way onto a growing but largely unsubstantiated narrative (about Frats and school administrations) using testimony from someone who had only publicly spoken to said

I wonder what they’d say if Disney cast a Mongour or other minority.

That’s the invading Hun, so obviously krauts.

I wonder if the Chinese could handle a Mongour Mulan.

She’s far too old to credibly enter the army and pass boot camp, let alone have living parents.

1) ancient. Are her modern-day parents even still alive, let alone those in feudal China lifespans? Also, she’d shatter her fake hip.

I’m pulling for Khulan Chuluun, mainly because I legit can’t find any actresses from Chinese minority ethnicities, let alone Mongolic ones.

Update to the story: they didn't know about it, and it was a minor supplier.

How about a Xianbei Mulan?

Just for tentpolls, Interstellar. Currently listed/playing, I have no idea because that would take work.

Several things:

One big factor: there’s no way selling to the Chinese market can hurt this one, as they probably care about the plot (unlike with Transformers, which they bankroll because I guess the Chinese cinema can’t afford explosions like that and reading the subtitles is for nerds).

Of course, Mulan is more Central Asian. Her father was Xianbei (Mongolic) and she was from the West Turkic Khaganate.

There are several things going for it: it’s surprisingly true to the commonalities of the various retellings that make up the cultural consciousness of the character, and it stars the only Disney princess who is acting for the benefit of others rather than herself.

Now playing

Well he is Eastern European Jewish, which has traditionally been classified as Asian.

A Mongolian actually wouldn’t be outrageous, given that her father was supposed to be Xianbei.

Fun fact: Mulan was actually half Xianbei (Mongolic) and half Central Plain Han and from the Western Turkic Khaganate. For those of you who might know how the Chinese classify race, she was Xianbei on her father’s side.

Would a well-done steak be any more black than any other? You actually want a lower temp for them so they cook all the way through by the time a sear forms on the outside. That said, I have yet to get tuna anywhere short of cat food when I try to make it, so maybe I'm doing it wrong.

I don't suppose you've built up any self-implicating stories? It seems like that would make for a really entertaining article. Last week, there was the person who felt insulted that a customer had the nerve to think she was asking whether he wanted his steak seared on the grill or in a cast iron while also being
