Thanks for asking. I was also confused by the garbage title

What does this title mean? “Imitates regulators”?

That experience made you the person you are today!

I’d argue revenue is a better metric than units moved.

What are you doing writing a reasoned response about Musk on Jalopnik? You must remember that everything he says and does is a lie and needs to be mocked relentlessly.

Well there’s 2 ways to look at what a car company sells... unit volume and sales measured in dollars.

Tesla model 3's are the outselling all other models by dollar volume?!? I completely understand the various metrics for bench marking performance, but it’s not like total revenue is irrelevant. People are spending more money on model 3's than any other passenger car model on the planet? Yes, that is news. And

Needs yellow splitter guards.

For the same reason penguin bellies are white.

I would be surprised if the dark on bottom design gets used. The lighter colors used on the bottom are there to help it blend in with the sky. That big dark blob in his new airplane would stick out like a sore thumb against a daytime sky.

That said, it’s iconic at this point, and it seems bizarre to change it to something more generic.

You know he didn’t design it otherwise it would look like something like this, inside and out.

Yeah...but...batteries...and solar panel production creates waste...and batteries...and lithium mines...and...BEVS BAD! DO YOU HATE AMERICA!

They haven’t stopped sales of Mirai and Nexo, they’re stopped *deliveries*

If not solar, that electricity has to come from somewhere. For the purposes of the infographic, both sides require some sort of power source, so it’s basically a wash. It’s probably the case that solar is one of the more eco-friendly electricity generation methods and it is a smaller graphic than, say, a nuclear power

This graphic is only referencing the refueling process, there is nothing in either one about the manufacturing process of either type of vehicle. Does that assuage your pain?

The graphic is oversimplified but it does get the point across. There are solar cells on both sides so they cancel each other out. It’s not accounting for battery mfg, but it’s also not accounting for fuel cell or hydrogen tank mfg. so seems pretty fair on the whole.

Here’s the most recent gas station explosion I’m aware of. Happened in Virginia 1 month ago. 3 people dead

Makes sense, because generating on site takes a lot of waste out of the equation.
