Just looked up the cargo compartment of a C-5 (the biggest plane I know the name of) and the length is 121 feet. There are bigger planes, but I don’t think that much bigger.

Installed one of these (the three pack) about two weeks ago. The first couple days it was a bit flakey with connected devices seeming to search for the correct node but then it settled down and has been working great. Throughput for me is fine, and some room to grow if/when I upgrade to a faster ISP. Going from 8…
Totally what I was thinking too. Not car related yet really really cool!
How dare you have a reasonable take on this. Don’t you know this is the internet?
Each site has unknowns, most notably groundwater, that have been supposedly investigated and ruled safe at the Nevada location for the next XX,XXX years.
Definitely not canon, their shooting was way too accurate ;-)
There’s also a theory that while Luke was unconscious Ben went to the homestead to kill Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru, and the Jawas so that Luke would have no reason to stay on Tatooine any longer.
At a high level the Prius is kind of like that. The Atkinson engine doesn’t have much torque so they need the electric motor to give it drivable acceleration at low speeds. Prius also uses the motor as a starter and for reverse. Of course there’s a lot more going in with the motor/engine interface than just the low…
I don’t think those cross traffic situations are nearly as close as they look. Even in the break downs you need to multiply by 4 so there was four seconds to change the acceleration from 4.9 to 6.3. The Bolt was probably getting honked at by that time.
Looks way cool, but I’m really not seeing what is different due to it being based on an electric. The motor is where an engine would be, there’s what looks like a tank where the gas tank would be.
It’s funky how far away the engine sounds. I guess because it’s under a bed or sofa or something.
There are functional monorail systems in China and Japan (and others I’m sure), I think they are cheaper to build when the tracks need to be fully elevated.
Scootering pants: Check
They switched to NiMH at some point, but you’re right it was never very practical. Being a two seater and years ahead of decent cost effective batteries didn’t give it much of a chance. As an engineering exercise I’m sure GM learned a lot, and probably that was their goal for it all along.
Oops, see that you’re referring to the PU. Yep it looks way better than the CT. Carry on.
“And they don’t have to use all six letters, right?”
I’m far from an expert but have a little aluminum casting experience. One problem with large castings is that the bigger they get the more shrinkage (“I was in the pool”: George Canstanza) can happen and it makes holding tolerances harder. One way to account for this is to add features that allow for machining to be…
All mentioned in David’s article.
And Torch’s too.
