And for the love of God it’s not a “mute point” and if you don’t care about something do not say “I could care less”.

Those who drive on that road know the condition of the surface is horrible due to all the trucks. Makes it even more impressive.

+1, it’s too long and wide for my tastes as well.

“The fact that you can be driving along and plow into the back of a giant street sweeper that’s blocking half of your lane with no warning is kind of insane to me.”

So true.

Yep, they had a bladder to reduce fuel vapor emissions. AFAIK it caused a fair amount of problems so the gen 3 got rid of it.

And the Gen 2 Prius :-0

Claiming 8 years to make up the cost on electricity vs. gas equates to environmental benefits is apples and oranges.

It all sounds cool, but if it needs a spark to ignite the fuel/air is it really “compression ignition”?

I’ve seen three now and for me they also look better IRL than in pictures.

There’s a big metal 11'8" high beam in front of the bridge to protect it, so the repair costs are minimal. On this one it looked like it flexed a bit but once the truck left seems to have survived in fine shape, so the only costs will be to sweep up the mess that idiot driver left behind.

Once driving home from school after finals, and not a lot of sleep. It was during the middle of the day and all of sudden a guy in a tuxedo starts walking his poodle across Hwy 101. I hit the brakes hard and he disappears. Then I took the next exit and napped in the car for awhile.

I’m very familiar with Through Hole Technology, and also SMT ;-)

I’m right there with you. I like the car, but just don’t get what’s so great about doing donuts.

I totally understand that, but what you want and what was really happening are two different things. If the prevailing traffic is driving faster than a person in the far left lane and that is causing people to have to slow significantly and pass to the right it’s less safe than if that person kept to the lane that is

HOV lanes in a lot of NorCal, and where I saw the 3, don’t have solid lines delineating them. Drivers with access are free to enter and exit them at any time. It may be legal to stay in it, but moving over to the lane that is going your desired speed is safer and more courteous to the other cars around.

You’re right it is hard to tell. In this instance it wasn’t sarcasm. Yes, 65 is the posted speed limit but when the other lanes are cruising along 65-70+ drivers in the HOV lane shouldn’t be sticking to the posted limit blocking people behind them. That was the case when I saw the black 3, so he had people coming up

I’ve seen two. A black one in San Jose driving 65 in the HOV lane (jerk!), and a dark blue one parked in Redwood City. I haven’t been too impressed by the pictures, but IMHO it looks a lot better in person.

Exactly. Why are they designed to trap people inside? If it was like any other train crossing I’ve seen, the truck and car would have cruised right on through and everyone been safe.
