No, you don't always. Especially in Sci-fi, in which the fallacy of judging those different from oneself by one's own standards is a very common thematic element. And authors of higher fiction often attempt to juxtapose very unhuman societies with our own to underline this.

*Lapis Lazuli balls.

You are still judging aliens through a human lens. Which is wrong… and a common human thing to do-sadly. Everything different must be judged by our own standards.

Look over yonder
What do you see?
The sun is a-risin'
Most definitely
A new day is comin', whoo-hoo
People are changin'
Ain't it beautiful, whoo-hoo
Crystal pink persuasion

But that's thinking about it in a very human way. That's the problem. Gems are not human. Their society is different. Their concepts and values are expressed differently. With such despairing differences between human and Gem physiology it can't be thought of by measuring it with the rule of humans.

If Pearl accidentally dreaming about having fun with Greg is any indication….

Lapis is becoming Steven's "Pearl". In overt ways. I mean, the week started out with an exclamation from Pearl as she seemed to be reliving an argument she had with Rose a long time ago. And the week ended with Lapis coincidentally exclaiming the exact same thing. I think at the point of which the show finally

That is if Rose actually ever reciprocated the same feelings as Pearl, which none of her interaction with Pearl we've seen so far suggest that.

Then again, she discovers at the end of her dream that while she thinks she is having fun with Rose, it turns out the one she is enjoying time with is Greg. As shocking as that might be for her, what could it mean for Pearl, deep down in the parts of her that she refuses to entertain while she is conscious?

I feel like there are animals in real life who's mucous must have healing properties.

Do it for Cookie Cat!

Not everything is sex. Get your head out of the gutter.

Nah. There's going to be a really awkward moment between Sadie Steven and Lars and then they are going to accidentally have a three-way fusion.

Or were they going on missions everytime Rose said she had to go when she was with Greg?

Satisfied when you have an audience invested enough to make predictions and happy knowing you successfully gave them enough information to make accurate predictions without spelling it out right.

It turned that corner when Steven started being included with the Gems a lot more as a real member. A lot of the mysteries surrounding the show were mysteries because the Gems and Greg were keeping them from Steven as they believed he was too young and not ready to deal with it(case in point when Amethyst took Steven

Or an episode opening with a brief scene of Ruby and Sapphire hunting down (fake-feral)Amethyst with paintball guns.

Please remember, after Amethyst was born, rocks were her best friends.

Adventure Time and Steven Universe are pretty much the driving force of Cartoon Network quality cartoons for me.
