People who have the privilege (be it due to identity, location, or wealth) to storm out of the only major party pushing progressive beliefs because they didn’t get their way are NOT the Dem base.

Cool. We are electing the Chair of the Democratic Party. If he wants a say he needs to join the party and put in the work.

Ellison was perfect for the Dems (heck, I was for him from the jump, and pro-Bernie), and perfect pickings for Trump, because he’d have found legion things to quibble about. Picture Trump trying to quibble about a Latino (demographic the Rs want) pro-union (their members turned to Trump) who put himself through school

A very sincere thank you! And keep at it!!

Yes! I campaigned for Hillary, and now I’m working to be a contributing member of the Democratic Party, from the local level up, starting with becoming a member of my local Young Democrats. I believe in the party’s ideals, and want to help it continue through the next generation.

I actually got into an argument with a friend about this last week. I feel like if he has a lot of feelings about what Democrats are doing...he should join the party and make sure they happen.

Listen up, fucker. I voted for a candidate who had an actual chance of winning and was and continues to be a leader of the party I BELONG TO. You were either to selfish, high or selfish to vote for the only person running who represented some amount of your interests. Unless you’ve been in meetings over the last month

I am so fucking sick of how stupid people are. Either Perez or Ellison would have been fine (although Ellison would have been required to resign from his job as a US Representative to devote full time to the position).

Oh, go poke pins in your Hillary doll.

If Bernie really gave a shit about the Democratic Party he should have joined and ran for chair.

It was always gonna be between those two, they both knew it, and are gonna work together.

Hush with your rational sensible talk! Thus is the place for wild threats and unsupported accusations.

Yeah, I literally don’t give a fuck what Sanders thinks the Democrats should do since he isn’t a damn Democrat. He can get back to being wishy-washy on gun regulations to the detriment of his constituents, lmao.

Who’s “we” there Bernie? You got a mouse in your pocket. Or did you forget you aren’t a Democrat again and that most of the party doesn’t jump at your command.

I look forward to the gnashing of teeth and stomping of feet and spite voting to follow. Surprise: the Liberal Purity Test is alive and well!

The two men are united, and both wasted no time saying so. One would think we could follow their lead!

Nina Turner, a Sanders surrogate, told the Post’s Dave Weigel that “the future of the Democratic Party will walk away” if Ellison loses.

I for one am pleased as punch by this decision. Perez has a great record. His work on police accountability, voter rights, and unions has been steadfast for decades. Just because he wasn’t Sander’s first pick doesn’t mean he’s evil (or as the kids like to incorrectly say today “neoliberal”).

By...picking a DNC chair that’s near-identical to another DNC candidate? JFC this division is getting rediculous. “My guy says he’ll raise min wage by $10, and the other guy will only raise it by $9.50! CORRUPT RIGGED BERN IT TO THE GROUND!” Jeezy creezy.

Can’t wait for the Jill Stein voters to say this validates their votes in 2016, and refuse to support efforts to elect Democrats in 2018, because, really, when you come right down to it, Trump’s policies don’t really affect them very much.
