Cool, people like me with soy allergies would get sick and have no idea why. Changing a person's order without asking or informing them is stupid and dangerous.
More likely there were a bunch of skeptics who ordered it and while eating the real meat burgers, thinking they were the Impossible burger, they were saying, “Yuk! This is terrible! It tastes nothing like the real thing!”
Some are shelf stable and some aren’t. If you want to come drink the soymilk I buy after I accidentally left it out on the counter for a week, be my guest. You’ll have to use a spoon instead of a straw, though.
Almond milk doesn’t come from a cow. It’s with the milk.
This cracks me up every time...
Pretty sure raw onions have a different texture than cooked onions.
I’ve found that the best way to beat jet lag is to wear noise cancelling headphones while on the plane.
West -> East travel is difficult if it’s between 5-8 time zones. But because I flew pretty much halfway around the world (13 hr differences), going east -> west and west <- east have roughly the same effect.
Did you do it on the way back? Because I find the eastern travel to be more difficult.
Beyond burgers look weird, taste terrific. I prefer them to Impossible, actually. Way more meat tasting than the author implies.
That last email is the one you should have sent first, and it’s a shame you had to let Bret Fucking Stephens hand you your ass before you realized that.
I agree with your larger point, but if you’re saving $100K/year, even at a modest 7% rate of return, you’ll hit your goal of $10M in less than 30 years.
Aren’t you just replicating the central rear view functionality doing this? What about vehicles in your blind spot (i.e. on your side, but just behind you)?
To be fair to the media in this case, the Tesla system failed to classify a fire truck (i.e. a not-exactly-inconspicuous vehicle) as something that it should avoid hitting. That sounds like a pretty big failure to me; certainly it’s worth pointing out that the system perhaps isn’t ready for prime-time in that state.
Human drivers aren’t safe. When human drivers drive toward a hazard instead of away from it as they should they are not safe.
Obviously you didn’t keep reading. Autopilot is not a perfect system, nor meant to be used without any human intervention. It’s incumbent upon the driver to pay attention to the road and to take over should the computer have trouble. The driver didn’t, Tesla is not to blame for his negligence and incompetence.
What astounds me is how OK we were ... how OK I have been ... with this particular plotline for what – 30 FREAKING YEARS? Why? Were we all collectively asleep?
Odd that he chose Harvey Weinstein Jr as his pejorative instead of, say, Roger Ailes Jr.
I appreciate the sentiment, but also am extremely dubious at the idea that a teen boy isn’t watching porn based on the amount he’s willing to report his use to his mom.
