The thing is the marketing for Scion is confused. They seem to make ads targeted to the 16 - 17 demographic, people who are basically never going to buy a new car. And those that do, can probably afford something more interesting.
I'd agree with the statement that it's style and image that made the Countach an icon. But, I don't think the i8 has that kind of status. I'd say the only modern car that really does is the Veyron, and even then it's not quite the same thing.
The Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Dart all look really cheap to me in terms of fit and finish.
