That's why people buy consoles instead of PCs - planning to play games is never fun, while playing games usually is fun.

Sure, but at the same time, a new console is a 5-7 year investment. Buying any one while completely ignoring what will be available in the future makes no sense, however you look at it.

I think you have to enjoy the collecting aspect. Otherwise it's a LOT of ambling around somewhat dull environments, smacking things with a hammer. And the concept for it was really weird too: an RPG... with no characters!

If there's somehow a $50 discount on the XL, isn't it possible the 2DS will be discounted too?

If it's been a year and you can only recommend two e-shop games, wouldn't you consider it a poor decision to trade all your real money for fake / play money?

It really is, which is quite sad considering that, at it's core, it's a four year old game. But yes, it is still great.

Great improvement on OG article.

Wish I could help ya out but I got the 3DS version :(

Not looking good! Although at this point, no system is looking good for RPG's. Expect Xenoblade sequel in about 2 years.

That's using logic! How do you compare the three libraries when two of them have been out for... a few days?

It's kind of a travesty how Kotaku ignores this game because A> It's a great game and B> This game getting buried tells 3rd parties not to put a game like this on Wii U.

I think if you're recommending four games, Dream Team by no means deserves to be on that list. It's the least fun I've had with a Nintendo game in ages.

good picks except for Paper Mario.

a thousand recommendations, this!

It's $70 more. About 50% more.

holy fire hazard! i admit it is beautiful - but for the love of glob let those things breathe!

good call. I forgot about those 2. I'm personally not counting Nintendo Land just because it seems like proof-of-concept-type mini games. Unique? Sure, but will anyone mention it in 10 years or so alongside other Nintendo or Dreamcast classics?

Worthy to people who have not yet bought a Wii U and are considering investing in one (that is - who this article seems to be written for).
