Ikr. Or like somebody took the face of a Datsun 240z and smashed it together with the front of a classic Mustang then removed the front fenders and fascia and kind of just glued it to the front of a modern cobra (‘stang) without cutting up the ‘stang, kind of just wrapped around the original body.

Yup, the precursor, Constellation, was started under the bush administration but it went nowhere even though billions of tax-payer dollars were being dumped into it. Obama canceled it and started SLS which is suffering from the same problems. Not to place blame on any particular administration for the systemic failure…

That is true. All of the eggs cannot go in one basket. The SLS program, while certainly a viable moonshot, is not what we need right now. It cannot be re-used and is using technology that is decades old. Hell, it’s recycling boosters, tech, and engines from the space shuttle!
