Huh, to me this was easily the weakest episode so far (with “The Great Dime Chase” as the best). The comedy fell flat (Launchpad was AWFUL), the character work was crude, and there wasn’t really a story, like, at all: They wonder if there are Terra-Firmians, they go looking, they see some Terra-Firmians, the end. I

Things that kill your upvote ratio, in my experience:

*single, closed-eyed nod*

Seems to be conflating the guys who created the First Slayer (implicitly – or perhaps explicitly, I don't remember – proto-Watchers) with the current-day Watchers' Council, which is indeed predominantly white male (though we do see several female members, and I believe some of color as well).

if there had been a few more antifa types in Germany back when the brownshirts were first getting started, who sent the signal that people shouldn't just let that shit happen without speaking up, maybe things would have been different.

Yes, non-violent resistance is definitely the way to go. If Nazis spew their hatred on the street, organize large, peaceful counter-demonstrations expressing our disgust. If they physically attack we should of course defend ourselves (and other victims), but we should not show up planning violence, we should not throw

And I see yours, but I think it's very dangerous to apply the logic of war to domestic politics.

This is tragic, not least because the bulk of Trump supporters (reluctant to abandon their leader) will now feel obliged to adopt his thinking, whether or not they agreed with it before. And I wouldn't automatically assume that this will cause his approval ratings to fall, unfortunately.

Also, I'm not sure why the fact that I'm NDP is LOL - they're to the left of the Liberal Party in Canada.

I'm even more Liberal than our national Liberal party, as I'm registered NDP

No one said anything about ignoring, and shaming ≠ punching.

Then you don't really believe in liberal principles such as freedom of speech.

Unlike the reviewer, I thought that was the disturbing bit of her story, and I'm trying to work out what sort of entity her "uncle" is. One of the Woodsmen? Someone returned from one of the various mystic dimensions (since this episode seemed to show that this can mess with people's memory, between Agent Jeffries and

I find her far more attractive now than in the original show. Just can't get past that terrible hairdo!

No, it's not wrong to be against fascists, but it's wrong to use violence as a political tactic. (In fact, that's the main reason to be against fascists.) Yes, it's wrong to punch a Nazi, unless in self-defense. Apart from the principle of it, if we start trying to settle political differences with extralegal

Fine words. Let's hope action follows suit.

Unless the protesters were black; in that case there'd be flogging and rape.

I just watched Z last night (a political drama from 1969, in which far-right thugs drive through a crowd of anti-war protesters, knocking down and killing the main speaker in a targeted assassination, which the government then tries to cover up). I was thinking of recent events in Venezuela and Turkey – I didn't

But doing so is a common way to suggest that your opponent is a Nazi, or more broadly, a totalitarian. To my mind there's no real doubt that this was really his intention (as opposed to, I don't know… letting fellow Nazis know that he is one of them through the super-secret medium of Twitter?), as idiotic as that

Consider: It's a show for kids. The original ran from 1987 to 1990.
