It's the better version of what the Walking Dead said they wanted to do, which was tell an alternate universe version of the comic, mixing, matching, and going in other directions to tell a similar story. And while Dead mostly blows, I do like the idea in theory, and so far in practice on Preacher. Considering how

I think the cowboy relates well to the modern story. This week there was a nice thematic connection to Jesse. Both rather half-assedly tried to do the right thing & fucked it up. Both inadvertently made things worse for others and themselves.

Gee, that wasn't so hard, was it?

I'd have less of a problem with it of I hadn't found the Braavos story to be terribly boring & repetitive. I'd rather they beat me over the head with something I'm interested in than repeat the same boring shit endlessly.

It's always on the director. Maybe if it's a first time director being ridden hard by Marvel.or whomever, but Spielberg gets no breaks.

Spielberg does indeed have a talent for blending real & visual effects, either practical or CGI. But CRYSTAL SKULL demonstrated that even he can utterly suck at it from time to time. The bad CRYSTAL SKULL was made worse by some truly awful CGI, especially in the jungle sequences.

FADE IN: INT BATCAVE -

I rewatched HEAVEN CAN WAIT and was very glad I did. I was prompted by what I felt was the silly AV Club review that called it an inferior remake of HERE COMES MR JORDAN, which struck me as a terrible thing to say. But it had been a while, so I watched it again. And yep, it's still a stone cold classic that is

I'm not saying that's not a possibility, but every answer to my query here starts with "I assume." Audiences having to invent reasons for character actions is terrible storytelling, especially when there is another possible reason that is the polar opposite.

I could see that's what they were going for. But it was hella poorly executed, as the very last time we saw Arya.her entire story hinged on that she was NOT a monster. That was literally the only dramatic takeaway from her entire Braavos story. The plot takeaway was that she got assassin +9 skills and stayed put while

I don't notice that he was nailed in the Achilles. It was just strange seeing such a quick stabbing motion following Arya surviving what where easily fatal wounds, and which certainly would not allow you to walk for quite a long while no matter how badass. Not a lot of thought put into this stuff. Just have the kids

Ser Pounce or Gregor Clegane.

It was annoying that Arya could take multiple stab wounds deep into the gut with a long bladed knife that gets turned inside her & be running in the Olympics the next day (or days, whatever, but they filmed it to feel like one day), but old Lancel gets one quick stab in the side from a letter opener and is almost

Is that a guess? Nothing in the episode demonstrated that. I.don't have a problem with your guess. I.do have a problem with the show making us guess. I.also have a problem that Arya is just there out of the blue, and has already had time to murder, butcher & cook. After wasting so much time boring us in.Braavos, now

Yes. Extremely cheap drama there, and no reason to trust the producers did it for good reasons after so much cheap.drama the last two seasons now is known.to.have been time eating.pointlessness.

That episode felt like one of those massive dumps you take after having been constipated for a very long time. It's a productive relief, but it leaves lingering butthurt.

I only skimmed this, but the upshot seemed to be that Bill Cosby had sex with Caitlyn Jenner and Kanye West. Ima go tweet about that now.

Yeah, it's just like that. Do you have any other brilliant analogies you'd like to share with the class?

Does it get anymore out of touch than NBC saying, "From now on we're just gonna make good stuff. Yeah, that's the ticket!"
