I usually get more pleasure out of being able to feel the road through the steering linkage, modulating acceleration/deceleration through the brakes, shifting gears for myself than having some technology do that for me.

I don’t know how many think they’re headlights, and how many just don’t notice that their headlights aren’t on because the DRLs are way too bright.  There should be a legal limit on how bright DRLs are allowed to be, because it’s really dangerous to use them as headlights.

I don’t think I squealed the tires, but my guy was giving me tips on how to go faster.

Many people seem to think almost any sensation of g forces means you’re driving like a maniac.

True, there is no way I could hit the published 0-60 number for my motorcycle.

In my experience teenagers tend to be fairly cautious when their parent is sitting right next to them.

Yeah I had to go look it up, and it’s quicker than I thought but the lowest number I could find is 2.9.  According to Wikipedia, 2.5 would be tied for the third quickest motorcycle ever made.  No way.

I know I could light it up and rip 0-60s in 2.5 seconds"

That’s a Cobra, you managed to rent one of those?  I guess Hawaii is different, I remember seeing a Viper for rent there.

If a regular F150 can do this, then OK but I’m skeptical:

A Valkyrie with those pipes sounds pretty amazing.

You should check your subhead. "The West" is not a state.

Not according to autotrader:

Here was another dealer using the excuse of market conditions to be greedy.

He wants more caution flags? Isn’t that the boring part of racing?

Right.  If you have a very old pre-emission controls car, don’t drive it much.  If you have a car with a severe problem that causes excessive emissions, get it fixed.  If it’s not worth fixing, that’s the one case it might be a good idea to scrap it.  Otherwise drive your car as long as possible.  That is better than

Yes, but if you want something you can legally drive on the road, there are going to be some compromises.  Obviously they’re not race trucks.
