It’s a bit exaggerated, but not brain dead as he is basically correct.  Women are still, as always, doing much more of the work around the home than men.  Even in homes where both work full time this tends to be the case.

It’s so close to perfect that I don’t understand why more people don’t shout about these things.

You mean Singer?

If I managed that store I would call the fire department.  I’m sure they would be willing to take care of the issue.

Where do you see the punching down and making light?

Not a great headline. Besides the distinction between tow and seizure/impound that others have pointed out, it’s not the ruling that is unconstitutional, it’s the impounds.

there’s some report floating around Deerborn [sic] that shows that Ford ends up making more money w/o a dealer network, but it’s too expensive to get the network replaced quickly state franchising laws prohibit them from selling directly.

Just want to say, that sucks. And as all these numbers show, it’s sadly the norm - still, in 2021! One would hope this kind of thing disappeared with the 50s.  It isn’t universal though - there are men out there willing to do their part. There are even some few both willing and able.

I don’t know how it was where you lived, but the first cell phone I ever saw was in 1993.  The 80s definitely did not see the rise of that technology in my neck of the woods.

This is so much better than people talking about their 92 foot long car (e.g. “I used to have a 92' Accord”).  It’s almost like they don’t know what the apostrophe means, and just stick it anywhere because they know there’s supposed to be one somewhere.

Areas that receive regular snowfall in the winter are not an “edge case”, they’re exactly what all season tires are designed for.  I explained the reasons I didn’t bother putting on the winter tires I already had in my possession, but that list of reasons would not be necessary to justify using all season tires.  Just

At least then I could actually read everything.  On sites where I’m in the grays (everything but Jalopnik) besides all the usual Kinja crap, I can’t even read all the comments.  Not talking about grayed comments, I mean I get the single page load of comments, and nothing else will load.

Very fair. I just object to the notion, apparently fairly widespread, that all season tires are completely inadequate for snow.

False. I’ve had them both, and I’m currently running all seasons. In fact I have a set of snow tires that I didn’t bother to put on last winter. Why? Because the vehicle wasn’t getting driven that much, I don’t get deep snow very often, snow doesn’t usually hang around more than a day on the roads here, and the all

They can make no inference, connection, or assumption that they were not explicity programmed to make.

demanding perfection is just demanding it never exist.

I didn’t think the next one would be even uglier than the last.  It gets worse the longer I look at it.

So, this all just makes it looks like Musk is against special treatment and lobbying ... but only when it puts Tesla at a disadvantage.

That will be the day I remove Jalopnik from my feed.  The writing alone, without the community, is not worth it.

The government gives priority to married couples with children over childless single people.
