That made me go look. Manual transmission Corvette convertible under $35K with less than 60K miles: lots of C5s and C6s, so yes I think you have the correct take.

Your definition of truck things is far too narrow. They can tow 5000 pounds and carry 1500. Plenty to do truck things, because not everyone tows a Bayliner and hauls boulders. And most people I expect do no off roading more severe than a minivan can handle, so that’s irrelevant for a large portion of buyers too.
And I find it interesting that in typical GM fashion they offered something sorta cool but crapped on it with bean counting only to later make it better just to kill it.
What about the part where every single job has to be done by Tuesday for some reason? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a car build show where they had an appropriate amount of time to do something.
jammed up way towards the back
There is some substantial portion of domestic truck buyers who just have a truck because they want a truck, not because they ever do truck things with it. For the purposes of this topic, it doesn’t matter if it’s 10% or 90%, just that it is a meaningful proportion. If someone just wants a truck, and doesn’t have any…
I see, you’re just focused on that one sentence of the story. Perhaps missing the forest for the trees, but you do you.
Don’t underestimate the joy of driving slow cars fast.
If you have fewer than three children, and only have one rear-facing child seat, and only one tall adult in the car, it works fine. For example fitting the rear facing baby behind my wife and the forward facing small child behind me worked great in our Impreza. Had we had a third child, or two rear facing at the same…
Wow, just saying the quiet part out loud.
That’s “cue”. “Que” is Spanish for “what” (and “queue” is a line).
Once again this so-called automotive enthusiast website writes something right out the talking points of the antidestination league and the new urbanists.
That would make sense if the increase in fatalities was largely accounted for by new drivers, who are a very small percentage of the driving population. Very unlikely.
I don’t know if it’s the reason, but sitting at the side of the road an officer will see hundreds of cars an hour (pulling a number out of my rear end), whereas keeping up with traffic they will see the handful surrounding them at any time.
You may consider driving a right morally, but legally it is not.
Well I guess I get to be the one to inform you that the police can seize property as well as cash. If they feel like taking your car, or your watch, or the guns you are legally carrying in your car, or your prescription meds, or basically anything, they can. They do not have to charge you with any crime, and they can…
This did produce a gentle swaying motion, but not the violent and sudden loss of control you would get in anything modern trying such a maneuver.
Of course. I was just trying to answer the question of how that troll could consider that color “gay”. I’m guessing he didn’t actually have “dudes kissing” (as Jon Stewart put it) in mind.
Other than the first and last years, they sold over 20K a year. It’s no F150, but that doesn’t seem that bad.
I think there might be two cars equally impractical: the Elise, and the M/R Spyder. If I’m not mistaken those also have essentially zero storage.
