Ha ha, my (female) friend just wrote pretty much that exact screed on Facebook, talking about how her feelings, her innate inborn wisdom, were hurt by having to vote for Hillary, but she felt compelled to do so and now she feels sick and third party voters are heroes and Bernie Bernie Bernie. I had to click away

This is the feeling I’ve been trying to put into words every time somebody implies we shouldn’t be excited about a woman US president because she’s not a 100% perfect paragon of progressive values. Like fuck you, there’ve been disappointing male leaders for centuries, it’s time for a woman to occasionally let us down.

I’m all for Jez abducting her in the middle of a sprots event, while the penis-havers are scratching their balls. She deserves better than having to listen to all that flatulence.

When this motherfucker has the best take of the bunch, you know they fucked up.

Hallelujah, they can be taught!!

And yet, you have not yet written a four-paragraph essay about how you didn’t really have to, or want to, and how imperfect she is, and what a struggle it was to reconcile your personal purity-tests against the grim meathook realities of the candidates, and how you’d much rather vote for someone you’re personally

“Hey I’m not an ignorant shithead, where’s my prize?”

It’s OK, guys. My cat had to vote for this candidate and it chapped her hide, too:

It was the same when they voted for Obama. Like all of a sudden they had defeated racism or some such nonsense and people should be damn grateful they dragged their asses out of bed that day.

Nobody said you did. It’s almost like you are the article, in living form.

Those dudes all expect participation ribbons at the very least.

Thank you! In the other post, I ranted about why I’ve had enough of the entitled white male schtick. Just shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up. This is not your election. This is mine.

Why is it OK that 1% of the comments is going to get 95% of the stars?!?! OCCUPY KINJA!

Only a small minority group of Michiganders speak with faux posh British accents. You people are so intolerant.

Well she is the 1%, so...

For the “holding your nose” contingent, has there ever been a major party nominee for President who you were excited to vote for because of their proposed policies?

I actually worry about listening to parents conclusions at all (on this or on many other kid topics). Not because parents don’t know their own kid, but because parents - just like everyone - tend to make the same mistakes we all make: confusing correlation with causation, engaging faulty memories, confirmation bias,

By their own data, a majority (60%) of parents whose children have autism do not agree with the statement that vaccines were linked to their child’s autism. (You’d have to have a child with Autism to qualify for the resondent group for that question). So, they’re not just losing the arguement with the general public
