Glad to hear you even know of them. They are still making a game effort (probably about a top-25 team at this point), but as the sport grows, the talent pool in the big cities makes it that much harder for a town like SB to attract (and keep) the best athletes.

Another team proudly flying the Condor banner: The Santa Barbara Condors. Established in 1974 and still going strong 41 years later, it’s the oldest and most legendary Ultimate Frisbee team in the nation.

On a side note, that “update” clip confirms once again that USC is still the gold standard when it comes to cheerleaders.

Good to see Max Headroom is still getting work.

“...ultimately the people who buy into their lies are the morans.” FTFY.

This whole thing is fucking brilliant. One “race-baiting nativist or apocalyptic culture warrior” you left out was George Wallace, who practically invented the role.

Too soon?

...“fewer” double-negatives...” ;-)

Well stated. I’m reminded of an old joke...

Kurt Cobain dies and goes up to heaven, where he’s met at the Pearly Gates by Jimi Hendrix, who offers to show him around. “Over there’s Janis Joplin, and that’s Stevie Ray Vaughn. Here’s Jim Morrison and that’s Buddy Holly, etc, etc..”

One quibble with your comment, whilst Magic’s performance in 1980/was truly remarkable, let’s not forget that Jamaal Wilkes had 37 points of his own.

A form letter with a typo, no less.

Bullet point #5: “...you are anticipated to make less of a contribution...THAN another player...”

My “New Yorker” is “Harper’s” and the “NYT Book Review.” They are everywhere: coffee table, kitchen table, nightstand, under the nightstand, on the bed, back of the toilet, plus two or three under the driver’s seat in my truck and another few over at GF’s house.

My biggest problem is that I also keep them after I’m

Last season I was listening to Vinny call a game while I was driving around town. Adam Wainwright was pitching for St. Louis against the Dodgers. Right off the top, Vin goes into a story about General Jonathan Wainwright, the World War Two general who marched with his men on the Bataan Death March and was held as a
