Great comment!

The New Yorker article was a master-class job of presenting a relatively positive explicit message about its subject, while subtly (or not-so-subtly?) hinting that she's unable to play well with others and might just be a touch unstable.

I think Jon (or Arya, Tyrion, etc.) in general was more competent before the show reached the end of the books. Jon wasn't a genius and he made mistakes, but he was also an effective spy and had more insight than anyone else at the Wall into the white walker threat. He was absolutely right about needing the wildlings

England's flag predates the red cross by centuries, so that would make for an interesting lawsuit.

I wonder if Quinn is the actual villain this season.

You're right about visitation, but Chet's previous substance abuse may have put restrictions on when he can visit or even call.

That definitely seems to be the upcoming "twist." But I liked that Darius has Rachel's number, and wouldn't be goaded into confiding to her about his health. He's so much smarter than Adam; he's probably the best thing about the new season.

Actually, as horrific as Quinn's manipulation of Brandi was, this felt like the first episode that wasn't painfully OTT. Perhaps because the Chet drama was toned down until the end, and because for the first time this season Rachel seemed recognizably the character we knew from last year. And Coleman functions nicely

I would really like to see Jon learn from his mistakes. Please?

Yet another heightist, trying to silence the Little Man…

Myles, I've really enjoyed your reviews this season. Thank you.

Sorry, I thought at the end you were referring to the whole "Sansa withheld the information about LF's army" argument that's been raging. That's fair. I moved onto John because it was an example of the same short-sighted emotional decision-making that winds up screwing over the people who are fighting for you.

I think the fact that we didn't see the North being overrun by the Ironborn during that season made it hard to factor it in. But it seems a pretty decisive mistake now.

Sigh. FYI, we've had this argument in four different spots in the section already.

She might hold her nose and marry him in order to keep Winterfell, but I don't think LF will find her to be a very pliable wife.

Jon charged because of Rickon. They had said repeatedly the night before that they couldn't afford to charge, because then they would get flanked on both sides by the larger army. Which is what happened, because Jon fell for Ramsey's manipulations.

Remember how relieved we were that Pod survived? Good times.

So right. Grey Worm needs more time outdoors with a spear in his hand.

Seconded.

No fucking kidding!
