I mean, the button i s only used to get out of Park, at least in my car. You use to button to get out of Park, then if you're in reverse, you can shift down to Neutral or Drive without the button, and if you're in Drive, you can switch to Neutral or to Shiftronic (Fake Manual Mode), but not back to Reverse.
