The US should actually mandate amber turn signals. The center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) that popped up in 1986 is great, and is now too ingrained to eliminate, but the problem it was trying to solve could have been solved with amber signals.

8. 1998 Ford Contour SVT

I saw one of these at an autocross once. I laughed really hard about how someone thought that a 90s Ford could make any magic and kept laughing up until the point where they were best in class and had almost 15 seconds on me. Which is eternity when lap times stay around 50 seconds.
