Griffin did hire him. I’m assuming you’re referring to the reports that Dan Gilbert ordered Griffin to make the Blatt hire. Many people have pointed that out to me. That ABSOLUTELY absolves Griffin of the blame even if ownership scapegoats him for it later.
It’s a shame you don’t work for the Kings. You could’ve yelled “Moron alert!” to DeMarcus Cousins’ face while he and Marques Johnson were explaining that combining the start of Black History Month with monkey shirts was a bad idea. You could have spun around with a 🚨siren on your head🚨 as you yelled, “Moron alert!”…
Not all a cap shoot, but to a certain extent...
Well, the cap is a concoction of the owners. THEY force that shit into every collective bargaining agreement. So, I never give credence to that excuse when they don’t want to pay the guys packing the stadiums and earning the TV deals.
In the end, this gets back to owners and executives not being very bright. The list of NCAA straight to the NBA flame outs is a mile long. I think Larry Brown is the only coach with an NCAA and NBA title. Non-NBA success has nothing to do with NBA success.
Nobody thinks the Chinese New Year is racist. DeMarcus didn’t seem to think it was intentional. But handing people monkey shirts on February 1st is just a bad idea.
Not sure why. This isn’t even slightly similar.
Seeing as how a radio host JUST called Jada Pinkett a monkey... forget it. Believe what you want. They should’ve handed a Black fan a monkey shirt on February 1st, in the US, where we’ve all been called monkeys dozens of times in our lives (probably hundreds if you’re from Alabama), where cops that shoot us exchange…
A radio host JUST called Jada Pinkett a monkey. You don’t seem to know what “projection” means. But that’s fine.
I hadn’t read that. But wanting someone on staff and putting them in charge are drastically different.
Doesn’t change his constant string of mistakes. I’m not saying the players weren’t skeptical from the beginning. I’m saying they were ABSOLUTELY correct to be sketptical. When Lue had to physically stop him from blowing a game with that time out call, what were the players supposed to think? He has ZERO relevant…
As for his in-game fuck ups being overblown... I don’t get that at all. What matters in coaching if the coaching itself doesn’t matter. That just sounds like meritless thinking to me. I watch a couple Cavs games a week and he made egregious errors in all of them. I’ll be specific. Last night, Frank Vogel drew up 2…
The entire GSW roster spoke out in favor of Jackson when he was fired. They went on to win the title last year. If those players think he’s great, why shouldn’t LeBron? In fact, who ever said Mark Jackson couldn’t coach? He actually did what everyone claims Blatt was hired to do. He coached up young talent on a dead…
Tyronn Lue almost tackled him trying to stop that TO 😅😅😅😅
What makes Blatt brilliant. Have you watched the stuff his teams ran overseas. Pin down, curl, bucket with NOTHING happening weakside. Did his sets look brilliant for CLE? That stuff was so dead they resorted to Dellavedova throwing lobs over the backboard and LeBron backing down for 20 seconds.
I can’t think of a single NBA hire similar to Blatt that didn’t end in a spectacular failure. Not one. Most of the straight from the NCAA guys fall on their face.
If that is true, this bad hire falls on Gilbert. Correct. The notion that he was going to develop Wiggins is laughable. As you implied.
I don’t CARE about any of it either way. Just talking sports. Truth is, I thought Blatt was funny. That’s my real FEELING about it if I had one to express. The Cavaliers should care, though. Another commenter said ownership pushed Griffin into that hire. If that is true, that fiasco isn’t on Griffin at all.
Let’s start with Dan Gilbert. I’m going to assume he did make the Blatt call. He’s an idiot. Why not? If so, that is ABSOLUTELY not on Griffin.
