Everything about this is embarrassingly stupid: the joke, the “apology”, the claim of ignorance. That’s what the German word “fremdschämen” is there for: I am embarrassed in their place. (I mean, they are not. Not really.)

They look happy. That’s all that matters when it comes to whom people love, I’d say: that everybody is of age of consent or within a reasonable age bracket (like 16 and 18), and that everybody gets treated right.
