"George Lucas is coming here?  We shall redouble our efforts." -panicked J.J. Abrams, $150M overbudget

COMING SOON: Gondry's film version of Céline's Death on the Installment Plan!

I liked aspects of it, but I'm still vaguely unsettled by it years after seeing it in the theater.  I guess I prefer my whimsy to be less dark.

Have you seen The Science of Sleep

@avclub-299d09aab8f42422462f3f72fc63fa32:disqus That's "natural gas."

Maybe you should check one of his books, like Désobéissance civile.

I'll wait until Spring, when the roads are passable.

Pass it right onto Anna Farris's face!  *takes hour-long shower to remove self-loathing*

If he's a paradox, why does he exist?

It was with a sigh that Joe Biden turned over the keys to Apartment 23 to the landlord.  "Had a lot of good times in that place," he said, while thinking that he'd never see his security deposit again.  "But I got a steady job out of town . . . " His eyes just looked to the distance; he'd never said where he came

Bob Uecker plays the tuba.  (Not sure if he played on the theme, however.)

Ask Walter Benjamin.

Just want to put a plug in for Spirit's Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus, an under-known masterpiece.  (The preceding album, Clear is also very good and has some pieces from this film's soundtrack.)

"They ax'd me if I wanted direct deposit and I said sure . . . I'll come by and y'all can direct deposit that check into my hand."

"Hey Big O, what's shaking?"  *takes beer out of fridge without asking*

"Caricatures of The Decider as an incompetent bumpkin were a dime a dozen during the eight years of the George W. Bush administration."  So, THAT's why they changed the name back to A.V. Club local.

They aren't going to do this, but here's how I would have the series end, based on this episode.  (No I haven't seen the preview for the end):

JINX.

Yeah, that was the best part.  I loved the procession with recreation of film equipment instead of religious items.

Well, it sounds a hell of a lot better than Hopper's The Last Movie.
