I agree. I think it is a bit weird that they jumped the gun on this. Most organizations wait until after the primaries. I’d be really interested in hearing their reasoning for announcing an endorsement now.

my opinion is that she’s worked on her voice a lot and it shows — she’s rounded out the shrieky flare that used to be in her high range, she’s opened up a lower range, and she has a lot more control

Either one of those things sounds great to me! Also thats a pretty good stripped down Wildest Dreams...still doesn’t make it any more than my third favorite song on 1989 New Romantics and I Know Places still on top

Geena Davis’ life mission is now exactly this. JJ Abrams has said that he thought of her when handling crowd scenes and the Storm Troopers, as well as keeping in mind how little girls would respond to Rey. At least someone is listening.

Some white men will be. And we’ll all be happier for a space they avoid.

It’s almost as if, when you make a movie that is good and that has women and people of color in key roles, women and people of color will go see it and white men won’t be scared away either.

THIS. Best of the old, got rid of the bad stuff, made it better.

When I saw the first trailer I told my husband, “if she’s the jedi I’m going to cry right there in the theater.” And I did.

The very first spoken words of the film are “This will begin to make things right”

This may be me nerd-ing into the film a bit too much, but this feeling he was able to re-create is “Home”. JJ and the performances took us home. The prequels felt foreign, stoic, unwieldy, and were definitely not home. Also, that concept of establishing or finding “home” was articulated repeatedly in the movie: “Bring

I agree. This film is basically 4 for a new generation, and it succeeds beautifully at it while slightly edging it out as a better film. Loved it.

Mr.Tank, my husband, is a huge fan of Star Wars. HUGE. I’m a far more casual fan of the series, but omg I loved this movie! When we saw it, I could not contain my excitement over Rey. She’s so strong and so completely awesome. Also, I may have fist pumped during the opening when it mentioned General Leia Organa.

Having Rey as the lead and new Jedi was seriously powerful for me. As a little girl, I LOVED everything Star Wars. But when dressing up for halloween or playing with neighborhood friends, I always got stuck with being the Leia or Padme, and never got to be the hero. When it struck me that Rey was the Jedi (not Finn as

Yes! I teared up when I saw her in the trailer. I’ve loved Star Wars since I was a toddler (my parents were geeks) and seeing someone like ME as the main character was just profound.

I FaceTimed with my 5 year old nephew after he saw the movie, and he said “I want to have the Force and fight like Rey!!” Seeing him idolize a female character in a sci-fi action movie literally melted my heart into 100 tiny feminist pieces.

As a little girl I had to play Leia when we played Star Wars. Now, she’s a kick ass character, but I still had to wait by the elm tree until I was saved from the Death Star and I still didn’t get a light saber. After that I had to make do with background Jedi and 4-comic runs of Shaak Ti. So...when Rey caught the

I took my 7 year old daughter yesterday. She laughed, cried, and cheered her little heart out. She loves Rey and the look of sheer joy and awe on her face when Rey piloted the Falcon was something I won’t forget seeing. She told me on the way to theater that boys at school told her that girls couldn’t like Star Wars

What do you mean? She is British.

Watching Rey's face light up when she force grabbed the light saber was way more emotional for me than I expected.

I just loved Rey in this new movie. She is capable and strong.
