I hated the 2015 facelift for the Cruze (bottom photo). It used to look a bit sporty and clean, then they added a bunch of ugly chrome strips and changed the shape of the grilles making them look much more disjointed.

I think the closest competition to this car is actually the Mazda 6 with AWD. Even though I drive a Subaru now i’d still go with the Mazda. It looks astronomically better, and no CVT.
Just think, all they had to do was give this car a regular 6 speed auto like the one in the Fusion and they would have never had this headache. I had a 2012 Focus Hatchback, I loved the way it looked and drove (when it worked) but I traded it after less than 30,000 miles.
Counterpoint, I feel like maybe 5-8 years ago every other new SUV on the road was that color and it ruined it for me. Also nearly every mid-to-late 2000s Sonata was that color.
It looks like a Kia honestly
Will happily trade our conservatives for their conservatives.
I spent about this much for an SLK230 with 90k on it back in 2015. This is a good price for only having 50k miles on it, with the V6, and a manual. Nice Price all day.
This new Mercedes face looks way too Hyundai for me. MB was on a roll for such a long time too. Is this design language going to be on all their models? The trapezoidal grille should be wider at the top not bottom.
Something about that type of wheel that screams “RED FLAG”
The second generation killed it. Looks too much like an S5 now. The first generation was instantly recognizable and less boring in every way.
Had those on my SLK with sport package. My fave wheels from any of my cars :)
VW needs to take this design and make it into an A5 sized convertible to replace the awfully proportioned Eos. Make it a hardtop too... With AWD (one can dream)
Truly a meh car, but at least it had optional AWD which you couldn’t get on most competing midsize cars, one reason I used to see quite a few in the North East. Also, the Milan had a better looking front end than a similar model year Fusion.... until the 2010 facelift, then the Fusion looked better.
am I only the only person who hates these new headlights? Looks way too Audi.
First Jag in a long time that I find truly ugly.
This is #1 on my next car list! I have a 3.0R outback but i’m done with Subaru until they ditch their CVTs. Love the Volvo V90 but it’s almost 20k more than a Regal Tour X...
My parent’s 2013 Ford Escape had a weird odor from time to time and no one could figure it out. It wasn’t fuel or oil, almost like an overused ionic breeze. They ended up trading it for... a 2015 Escape and they love it 🤷♂️
Sorry but I can’t get over those huge-ass headlights. And from the side with the top down it looks like a Toyota Solara (barf) But, Still NP
There’s one thing that prevented the Kia Amanti from being just as meh, it had these bright amber LED strips for turn signals. This was a few years before Audi and Mercedes. They weren’t DRLs, just turn signals.
I see the 2018 Impreza everywhere now but its so boring and easy to confuse for a toyota or hyundai. I can’t believe how much better it looks with some black plastic cladding and added ride height.
