At least in this case, she didn’t shoot him while on duty, and the circumstances of the case were so patently ridiculous they pretty much HAD to charge. This was a civilian (cop or no cop, she was off duty) breaking into someone’s home and shooting them dead, and admitting to it. Not a lot of gray areas to hang onto…
