@djdare: Setting Profiles. It allows you to set up conditions and actions. For mine, I have a condition set for "less than 25% battery" that turns background data, wifi, bluetooth, and gps off; dims the screen to its lowest level, and turns off vibrate.

I think the stories of this are just a tad overblown. I'm in the process of downloading the file to check it out, but here's a list of the files contained in that 2.8GB:

@Buickboy92: Agreed. Mk2 and Mk3 guys still had some semblance of a desire for a performance car... well, at least most of them. Mk4+ seem to combine the worst of import tuning with a splash of yuppie euro-douche.

"The bad news is that this trailer seems to give the whole damn movie away."

"Is your Johnson a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke?"

@mechanicalTurk: It's a joke, dude. Air horns are annoying. Vuvuzelas are annoying. An airhorn blowing a vuvuzela is really, really annoying.

@nacleon: Agreed. The IM client was totally seamless, and their server-side login implementation for AIM was miles ahead of anything else. Only now with android and google talk have I found something that comes even close.

Honest question- have any of you who "hate" the sidekick ever actually used one?

The first smartphone-ish device I got was the original sidekick back in 2003 on the day it was released. A lot of people tend to dismiss the sidekick now as a crappy dumbphone for tweens, but it was pretty revolutionary when it first came out. Danger was a company started by a bunch of hackers, and the first couple

@sub150: Absolutely. I still haven't found a mobile keyboard that beats the sidekick 2.

@belladonna seablue marshmallow eyes: Oh come on. It's an ANALOGY. One is the use of institutional racism to justify violence against the typical oppressor. The other is using "institutional sexism" to justify objectification of the typical oppressor.

@belladonna seablue marshmallow eyes: I was never saying that it was the same, but the tone of this article implies that in the face of institutional sexism or racism, behavior that would be not allowed in one direction is all of a sudden OK in the other direction. In a world where objectification of men is alright

@ShanaElmsford: Aaaand there it is. Like I asked in my post below, "only white people can be racist?" Your anecdote doesn't even begin to describe the myriad ways that people of color can be racist against others. As a white kid growing up in a neighborhood where I was pretty much a minority, I know first hand what

"1) Context matters."

I really don't understand these things. They just look like souped-up versions of those adult go-karts you can buy at pep boys.

These articles make it sound like door knobs, ipads, glasses, shopping carts, payphones, whatever are all ticking time bombs ready to infest us all with a plague of scary sounding diseases. Oh, but wait:

@nemo728: "t4stywh34t" is right about how long the blades last. You can use them past that and they work decently, but knowing just how good they shave when they're newer makes you not want to. :)
