I feel awful. I think I liked this show more when it was bombastic, annoying, frustrating and stupid as hell. It was like watching a crazy person jumping on a trampoline. Now it's just…dull.

If you weren't chilled/freaked out at the end of that segment, I don't think you really understood what was going on. You may need to rewatch and pay attention to what happened/what was discussed by the characters earlier.

Right now, I'd say the best films I've seen so far this year would be Upstream Color, Before Midnight, Stoker, and V/H/S/2. I'm sure those will be joined by Only God Forgives when it comes out next weekend.

That said, I have to say this review is much better than the corresponding one on The Dissolve. Nice to see the Dowder give in to the pleasures of actually enjoying a film for what it is.
