Yeah, I love the backdrop of the lit-up Bridge both when walking on Embarcadero or behind the decks of Oracle Park when sitting in the upper deck. My favorite picture of my girlfriend was one I took with her at one of the piers with the lit-up bridge stretching behind her.

It looks good and people like their city to look good. Also good for the already astronomical property values, and good for tourism (which is a huge chunk of revenue for lower market st/fishermans wharf etc) to have another whimsical thing to offer.
