I’m genuinely curious how old you were, and how well you’re remembering that time.  The only reason we’re discussing this movie here at this moment is because the books were absolutely and increasingly everywhere at that point.

This is true, but the way it’s done also makes the movie irritating, since it’s a constant series of moments where Thing From Book is introduced to a swell of music and a lingering camera shot, making pacing and flow practically non-existent. More subtlety could have kept the lived-in feel, satisfied book readers, and

Although since he apparently wasn’t Rowling’s first (or 2nd or 3rd, maybe) choice, that kind of hurts the theory.

I don’t know whether you can call it a “breakout role”, but her being cast by Disney in the lead for their gigantic push into remaking their old movies surely is more “movie star” than any of Radcliffe’s post-Potter work (without commenting on the merits of either, both of whom I like).

I watched 11, 12, and 13 back to back to back a few weeks ago, and while the other two definitely aren’t nearly as good as the first, that same charm and chemistry between the actors pulls them both into “still very watchable” territory.

Ha, just finished up the second season last night, and now I know the exact thing you were talking about.  Definitely a great funny moment.

Good parody, but you forgot to call it the “Democrat Party.”

Seems pretty relevant that later in the day this one broke:

People keep making this error. While I agree the terminology can be a bit confusing, SDNY refers to a federal office/court, and is therefore extremely pardonable. New York State prosecutors would be the ones to look out for.

Ah, got it.  Looking forward to that, then!

Admittedly I haven’t finished the second season yet, but is there any reason to think Diego would have any problem at all?  He didn’t bat an eye when Klaus told him about his love in Vietnam being a guy.

Anathem is my favorite of his by leaps and bounds, but it does take a couple of chapters to click in.

The Trump administration must complete an additional 48 miles of wall to meet its goal of building 450 miles of new border wall during Trump’s term”

Worth noting that this is horseshit in the first place, since even meeting that supposed “goal” would leave them with about 1500 additional miles to cover to meet what he

Or, if I may - a year by year breakdown of the most notable movies to feature any of our simian brethren.  The Popcorn Chimps.

And get her into the MCU already, damn!

Ha!  That all follows.

Yeah, I love the implication that they look up like that with the tiniest amount of hope every time he comes in, and finally he gets to say “yes, it actually is that this time.”
