I noticed someone getting taken out by some sort of tentacle on one of the monitors when they’re seeing the initial breakout, and immediately realized what it was.  I chortled, and my wife didn’t know why until this scene, when she also almost immediately figured it out.  Great episode (not just for this, though).

The concept of calling it an “artificial diamond” is funny to me, because uh, it’s still diamond.  Every bit as real.  It would be like calling farm-raised fish “artificial fish.”
