Especially a rodent.

I had not put 2 and 2 together until just now how this shot reminds me of that meme with the little girl grinning at the camera against the backdrop of a raging housefire.

“You can not retro actively create laws then charge people after the fact”

that’s very true!  And utterly irrelevant to the legal concepts being discussed here!  Why did you post it!

I hope we don’t forget by then, but I guess we’ll have to see (and be ready to explode again if there is an acquittal). From what I can find, though, MN seems to be a state where the jury can consider the lesser charge if they don’t reach the higher one, so if they didn’t feel intent was proven they could still find

If he’d had his knee on him for thirty seconds, maybe.  Even though I’m very often jaded and pessimistic about juries in this sort of thing, I think the staggering amount of time that he had that knee on George Floyd’s neck makes a big difference there.

For that, read Stephen King’s excellent prequel story, “Trucks.”

They said that thinking they were the passengers rather than the hijackers in the first place.

“That we got this far before the country faced major crisis”

Setting aside for the moment that he is, in and of himself, a major crisis for the country.

This also explains why stand-up specials pretty much all tend to be about that length these days.

re: Monsters University - not better than MI, but goddamn if it didn’t have a fantastic credits song.

That was such a weird movie - honestly, probably the least-memorable movie I’ve ever seen, because I cannot remember a single thing about it and only even know I saw it (streaming) because I tried to remember the fact that I saw it.

A new parent instantly figures out that changing diaper is not even in the top twenty things most difficult about babies. If it ever happens, you’ll be just fine.

I was very pleased when “Remember Me” won the Best Song Oscar, because it was the rare example that was not only a great song but a pivotal plot point in the movie itself.  Very satisfying.

I think if that were the case they’d be making less ridiculous and easily-disproven arguments, though.

Seriously - it’s ridiculous to point to the age group that supported Sanders “overwhelmingly” in the primary when he lost that primary “handily.”

That was true long before the age of streaming, though.

“Wasn’t Emanuel kind of unknown and, if known, disliked in Chicago? And yet he became Mayor.”

He was a damn Congressman from Chicago before becoming the Chief of Staff for a President from Chicago.  He wasn’t unknown by any stretch of the imagination whatsoever.

“I mean, hell, we’re talking about an administration whose Press Secretary insulted their own voting base less than a hundred days before the midterms, which is something even Donald Trump isn’t incompetent enough to do.”

I don’t know about that part; Trump insults his base almost every time he opens his mouth.  The

Let’s go through the most devastating Pixar moments like this, on whatever criteria we want:
* this scene
* last ten minutes of Wall-E
* first ten minutes of Up (still probably the overall champion here)

I’ve said before that between the last ten minutes of Wall-E and the first ten minutes of Up, Pixar technically had me uncontrollably sobbing for an entire calendar year.
