Black women face the same disparities as Black men. Plus, deal with society attacking their femininity and worth. Plus, men in general devaluing and sexualizing tham. Only to either A) go home to a Black man who takes out his frustrations on the world on her or B) go on the internet to see how white women do

This is a great observation. We saw it with the Black Panthers and how the men shoved the women aside, even though the early work and activism was by women - the script that BLM followed, as well, with the same outcome so far - black men taking the forefront. Same with Civil rights, with many of the men rightly

Why is talking about the reality of what Black women face anti-Black male? We are always told we’re being divisive when we talk about what’s going on. It’s a great way to silence us and nothing has to change. This has nothing to do with white people and what they want.

People who demand respect or obedience to symbols or the rote chanting of words don’t really understand the whole point of the American Revolution. This is a brave little boy exercising his rights as as an American.

One of the other issues that this ignores is that in many cases a bodega is not just in the community it’s part of the community. It’s a place your kid can duck into when it’s raining and they’re waiting for their bus, where you can get the baby formula you need today with knowing that you’ll pay it back next week

That this might actually work underscores one of the key problems that make younger Millennials irritating - a lifetime of butt-wiping digital convenience has rendered them utterly socially inept. They’re so uncomfortable with interacting with strangers face to face that they would rather interact with their phone to

Interesting back story - looks like a good movie in the making...

This is a shitty time to be alive in America. Never thought I would live through a country falling apart.

There is a huge difference between a union’s duty of fair representation, and what this bag of shit is doing. There is no legal obligation for a union to say that Nazi tattoos are not a big deal or to call black people “animals”.

I hate that you’re likely right. In our society, nurse Wubbles is most likely to get the result of the department taking appropriate action by suing over Detective Payne’s conduct. I share your doubt that any internal investigation will have teeth to change his behavior in the future, but a sizable settlement payment

From what I understand they wanted his blood so that they can test it and hopefully it will come back as dirty (drugs or alcohol etc.). Then if he wanted to bring a civil suit against the department for being injured due to thier high speed chase, which I think is against the departments policy, they can bring up his

If they could find anything, they could claim the truck driver was at least partially at fault.

Hm subtle.

Why are US police so violent towards everybody? Are they afraid? Insecure? Misogynists? Wannabe-army? What’s wrong with them? The police in the UK would never handle a sober, non-aggressive, non-violent suspect in this manner, let alone another member of an emergency service. In the UK this would be big news, and

Civil Disobedience for the win.

Hold up... wait a minute.

I don’t drink tea. At all. Especially not with old white women. Ever. I just didn’t know I was saving myself.

I declared my “retirement” from roller coasters just past my 39th birthday at Universal Studios Osaka. When a grown-ass man is the only one screaming like a little girl while riding a whiplash rocket with a couple dozen Japanese teenagers, it’s time to hang it up.

“Shit’s far ... like Africa.”

#1 - I’ve been in the PUBLIC LIBRARY (!) and I’ve seen people leave their laptops while they step away from their desk/study carrel/table. I guess they don’t really need that MacBook Pro  or the dissertation they’ve been working on. These people are always melanin deprived.
