Okay totally playing Devil’s advocate (and for the record I agree that authorial intent is important), but fun fact the only works that Shakespeare ever actually sought to have published in his lifetime were his sonnets and his poems because unlike his plays he considered his poetry worthy of literary status and thus

I agree. I’ve been very conflicted over the whole thing ever since I heard about the impending publication. I will say that I am personally very conflicted on this subject. It’s hard to know exactly WHAT Lee wanted, but since she has been described by people who have seen her personally as “forgetful and nearly blind

Yeah, when I end up with expired sunscreen it is usually because I buy a tube at the very end of summer for that one final beach/pool trip. As far as what kind of sunscreen to get I think that everyone has to go with whatever brand works best for their skin and their needs.

It’s not just you I’m missing so much dialogue I feel like I’m watching the BBC, which actually I have a much easier time understanding, so never mind. But yeah something with the sound mixing is making it impossible to understand half of what is said.

Yeah... I’ve been having a hard time getting excited about this because while sure it probably is about damn time, it just feels like an incredibly empty gesture to me. “Look we put a lady on the ten dollar bill, see how progressive we are!”....”okay sure now how about equal pay, reproductive rights, and generally

Recommendations:

Recently read both Station Eleven and The Southern Reach Trilogy. They are very very different, but I loved both.

Station Eleven reminds me a little of Wold War Z (the book), but without zombies, and it makes you realize that even without zombies a wold in which infrastructure has collapsed is still really fucking

I have always thought these bags looked tacky as hell.

First it doesn’t matter, BUT to be fair to him the picture that keeps getting posted where he’s standing between Sophie Turner and Gwendoline Christie probably makes him look a lot smaller than he really is. Turner is 5’9” and Christie is 6’3” and both are clearly wearing heals so he could easily be 5’8”-ish.

I wasn’t even aware there was another Hanks son aside from Colin until recently....I guess it’s pretty clear why...

I’ve been using Ban for a while now and I like how it works. I hate overly perfumed deodorants and have found that many brands leave the this awful sweat/perfume scent in the armpits of my cloths after a single wear. I’m not a filth monster but if I wear a cardigan to work and don’t sweat very much in it I’m going to

Something else that really works for me is shopping online. I find more interesting and unique things that way, and when they arrive I get to try them on in the comfort and natural lighting of my own home.
That said there are a few rules I try to follow when doing this:
1) shop smart, shop brands/retailers that you

Here’s the thing, Pete is a total shit and as a person he is awful, but as a character yes he’s totally interesting. For me the two aren’t mutually exclusive, Pete is both a total shit and an interesting character because Mad Men is a good enough show to give even the scummiest characters enough depth to make them

I always hated Pete and just when I thought I couldn’t hate him any more something would happen that wouldn’t redeem him, but that would make me almost pity him. I’m not saying you ever like Pete or that he doesn’t deserve what he gets, but the brilliance of the show is that it could occasionally make you feel pity

I had watched the first few seasons and when then went back and re-watched them with my BF to catch him up. It’s amazing how much detail you miss watching it week to week as compared to being able to watch multiple episodes in a row, I actually think the show is even better when watched Netflix style.

That picture reminds me so much of pictures of my younger sister when she was around that same age. I went through this phase of being obsessed with cameras and taking pictures and even had my own simple little camera. My sister was the only available model I had so there are a ton of pictures of her just hanging out

Wait hold the phone! She’s supposed to be part Asian?!?!?! I was bored/annoyed that we were getting another dull looking rom-com with a male lead 13 years older than what appears to be at least one of his love interests, I had no idea that she was supposed to be part Asian. **Face-Palm**

Does he have a mailing address? Someone should send him a copy of The Poisonwood Bible. It’s not exactly the same, but I feel this guy could use a cautionary tale.

Wow, I did not find this episode boring, I actually found it really interesting. Lots of character development and development of relationships between characters. Also some fairly big decisions were made that are going to have a potentially huge impact in episodes to come.
