As a theatre geek, it's fun for me to see her and Boyer (and Lithgow!) on the same show. Smash had so much going for it….just not the writing. It was also hard to see Rodriguez play second fiddle to McPhee.

As a newcomer to both shows, they definitely go together in more ways than one.

I am on the same page! That The Good Place AND Bad Place aren't literal places, and that it's about the actions and realizations of the people in each place (like on Earth). Even if that's not what happens in the series, it's all so sophisticated and thought-provoking.

But the do-er of the deeds ALWAYS receives a benefit: even if it's the FEELING of doing the right thing. People criticize the Ice Water Challenge for being attention-seeking but it ultimately did a LOT of good. I still don't think Tahani deserves to be in Hell because of all the goodness she provided, even if she was

yeah as someone with Generalizaed Anxiety Disorder, I was sad too. But also Tahani: she wasn't great and her motives were corrupt but they did A LOT of good, like Mindy's drug trip. Maybe my rules for the Good Place are just more lax and that may not be an accident on the part of hte creators.

Well-put! And what if it's not so much about the physical places, architects, etc…but the actions of the people who determine if the place is good or bad? Like, what if it's all the same?

That's lovely, thank you. He's selfish too but utterly endearing.

She reminds me of Anya from Buffy in a weird way…the non-human character really exploring and learning what it means to be human is a powerful trope/theme.

I'm trying to think if that's intentional, or not. If it is, it asks interesting questions!!

Could they make the Bad Place more like Purgatory ot the Good Place?

Was it selfishness? Or did it cause further indecisiveness?

He was correct but insincere.

Just finished the finale…that was my thought.

Just finished it and didn't watch for clues, but (to my own visiting the FB site) I knew the loose variation of the twist - it being the Bad Place in some way - but had no idea the INTRICACIES. It's positively Sartre and sophisticated and m y mind is still sort of blown :)

So I partially agree - also as someone who's in therapy. The problem is that Rebecca isn't completely willing to admit the effect the past has had on her which seems necessary before she can do the rest of the work. I find that a combination of talking about the past + having tools provided for the now are helpful in

[Just catching up as I "met" this show on a plane and binged the first 4 episodes.] So is this - what - third reunion for Bell and Scott? Not complaining, I adore them both: Party Down, Parks and Rec and this? It's fun.

I totally see your point but I'm not sure it would've looked better if only the person who ran the Bad Place was a POC….

Although I've seen some anxious people do stuff similar to the wedding planning: but I gotcha, and it makes sense we'd both want to claim Rebecca's issues as our own. Good representation is hard to find :)

Not next season but maybe in 4.

I'm becoming more and more convinced of that but hesitant to armchair-diagnose. Even if, it wasn't as evident when I was fallng fir the show.
