I have yet to really watch SU, but what resonates with me about Kimmy Schmidt is her optimism is not exclusive from her having dealt with real shi*. It's a coping mechanism and there's depth layered. Yes, she has to learn that "You're not really here" doesn't really work in the real world, but she incorporates that

If Jesse never met Walter White, he very well may have been Todd.

yeah, I agree, trying to work out my feelings on it but I think it's brilliant because it's a commentary ON whiteness and the construction and artificiality of it.

I'm not saying I know how I feel the Jacqueline story on the level of it being "okay" but I DO think it's a brilliant commentary on the ARTIFICIALITY of "whiteness" and race in itself that wouldn't be possible without the casting as a white actor. It's the racial equivalent to Titus' straight-training with Dean

A lot of that is Burgess' acting choices. I think we're digging deeper into Titus. Kimmy saying "You should have a show about being black and gay and bald!" is basically Fey/Carlock telling us he's so much more than those things. Plus, we see the gay construction worker who has to feign masculinity, etc. It's all

I trust Fey with that…I find him adorable otherwise though.

Yeah I was over him.

I love them, but Leslie has my optimism. She showed us you can be an optimist AND a badass <3

She was decent in Adventureland. This is intriguing.

I was always #TeamCathy and that was only emphasized after knowing how close to reality the show was. (Spoiler) They both had issues but only one cheated….

They did a lot of great stuff on social media, actually, that I found clever.

He wasn't great, but I blame the writing.

I think it's the right era for Assassins too…it's sort of on the current zeitgeist.

Follies is also a great choice for Box Office, because it can trick people into thinking it's about glam and flash and glitz when it's much deeper and sadder. I wonder if there's a way they could use film into the plot, instead of just about a stage group… I liked WOODS (despite the Rapunzel BS) but I'm just happy

And instead of a cast recording, maybe it's a soundtrack from an old movie musical to keep the meta-ness? I could dig.

Maybe some sort of documentary style? Miranda had talked about it awhile ago but I guess got busy with Hamilton. SLACKER. Just kidding. I;m in love with him.

When it was on I liked it because it was the closest thing to showing what it was like, but there have been so many better portrayals since the series began..

indeed, but Kendrick was stellar.

Pretty sure he's definitely a child.

Except for that movie around 10 yrs ago…
