I am in tears by the end of this essay... I left an eerily similar relationship just two weeks ago. I am hiding out at my mother's condo, and had a police escort stand watch while I quickly grabbed whatever I could out of the apartment.... I left so much behind.... materially, mentally, emotionally... I'm destroyed.
