Fittingly the protagonist will be called Daniel Watermark.

Never been to a pool, have you?

Milestone 3 on TIM carrier (Brazil) tests negative.

Actually it is a great phone. Bigger than the Droid 2, 5-row keyboard, 8MP camera with full HD video, faster 3D than the Samsung GSII. The only problem I have with it is the Pentile screen.

You get a heart.

Wow, Wild Cards. The first contact I had with the series was with the bundled GURPS: Supers comic book, back in 1992 or something. Done right, this should be very very good.

So you'd only have 12 days to live if you worked every day for 8 hours. Not very efficient, with having to re-train someone for your position before you die and all.

The article is talking about duration as well. That's where the confusion came from I guess.

No man, the transmission will take 5 minutes. It doesn't matter if it takes 12 minutes or one hour to start, it'll be over 5 minutes from then.

It'll be the same for a given distance, regardless of transmission technology.

This. I'd rather see them make Ender's Shadow.

Heisenberg's principle isn't a measurement problem, it's how quantum mechanics systems work. Even if you assume perfect measurement devices, the uncertainty is still there.

5 minutes is not latency, it's transfer time. The latency will be the same regardless (as long as you're transmitting at c and not using some relativity-violating neutrino beam).

From the original article: "Also in 2003, Paignton Zoo carried out a practical test by putting a keyboard connected to a PC into the cage of six crested macaques. After a month the monkeys had produced five pages of the letter "S" and had broken the keyboard."

This isn't how gravity works.

It's not a 3D scanner. It captures "images from 3D objects". It's a camera.

So we're breeding to become Pierson's Puppeteers?

@Setsail: It (still) is a personal decision. If it's legal to smoke, people have the right to do so (as long as they comply with the rules). If people have the right to smoke, companies have the right to come up with ways to get their money.

@Curves: Jesus. I'd need earplugs.
